"Interior Landscapes" Selected works 2007-2010

The Canyon Community Center, in conjunction with Z-Arts, is proud to announce a solo-exhibition by award-winning artist John E. Denney, July 6 through August 16, 2010. John’s artistic journey began 35 years ago in the city of Baltimore and, during the ensuing years, his work has hung in more than 80 shows from Washington, D.C. to Sacramento, CA.

John moved to southern Utah in 2003 and after submerging himself in the local art scene in 2005, he has garnered more than 30 awards for artistic achievement, including several “Best of Shows,” both locally and nationally.
 
When asked to describe his recipe for this latest exhibition, Mr. Denney states, “Well, it’s certainly a gastronomical gumbo. The entrée features several southwestern landscapes, which are accompanied by a generous helping of figure studies and portraits. This is topped off with a rich dessert of my surrealistic works that combine a pinch of all of the above ingredients.

“I free admit that, because of its originality, my work can be somewhat demanding. However, I am confident that those viewers with a hearty appetite for thought-provoking, contemporary cuisine will find this exhibition pleasing to the palette and a joy to digest. Your table is ready, Bon appetit!”
